Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Turpentine Wonders is the guardian of the eggs in the renegade clan. She loves to play jokes on other dragons, with her best friends Frill-freeze and Embodiment of Scarlet. She is loyal and kind, but a prankster. Most dragons wonder why she is still a hatchling. Her answer to them is simple, 'I just never wanted to grow up, I like being the way I am.'

She, however, follows the leader of her clan around a lot.
