Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has bright blue eyes, and is as clumsy as any other hatchling, but it never seems to get injured.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Snowstorm is good friends with Firestorm, a red dragon hatchling, although his family does not approve of their friendship. Snowstorm is part of the illustrious Snowstorm clan, and Firestorm is merely an orphaned hatchling. Snows doesn't let it deter him though, and plays with Fires in the forest anyway. He just has to be sneakier about it, because if dragons in the extended Snowstorm clan see him going off they will stop him from seeing Fires.  <br/>As Snowstorm is still young, he hasn't been given a first name, and so is called by his clan name.
