Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Located high up a remote mountain and guarded by frostbite and ice dragons, the Snowfall Assembly is only stumbled across by the deeply determined or desperately lost. Even if the resident solstice takes pity on a lost traveler, they must still prove their worth to the Council of Winter. Anyone allowed to stay will become an expert in all forms of magic related to cold or winter.

The storms around the Assembly can ground even adept fliers, so Snow Blueleaf teaches how to survive and get to safety when forced to proceed on foot and with any useful landmarks blotted out by snow. Her final exam involves a blindfold, an obstacle course, and a long, cold walk back to the Assembly.
