Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Grofkar pioneered "wanter magic"—the art of making someone deeply desire something, even if they didn't even know it existed five minutes before. He didn't invent the concept—Ximbal's had shills for his less-than-marvelous remedies for decades, while human shopkeepers have generally managed to find some way to set themselves apart from the competition—but Grofkar was the first to treat it as a valuable field of study. Grofkar spent several decades determining the rules that governed successful advertising, only to discover that even the normally open-minded Crystalfire Assembly wouldn't let him teach his wanter magic. In fact, nobody took Grofkar seriously, but he refused to let that discourage him. He's since had the last laugh, though, as his freelance advertising business has been wildly successful and he now has dragons queuing up to learn his secrets.
