Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to enjoy sunbathing.

And look! It has grown much bigger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Alyanis Ai Ton is a young Terrae dragon who willfully underwent the process of being frozen to stay with her friend Dir Ai Ton, a fellow frozen hatchling. She is much larger than most hatchlings, enough so that some of the younger, more naive ones mistake her for a fully-grown dragon. She is polite and eager to learn, not opting for much physical work due to her initial sickness that led to her being frozen. She is thoughtful and considerate, and never strays far from Dir Ai Ton's side.
