Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to enjoy sunbathing.

And look! It has grown much bigger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

People think Peccary looks sort of like a pig—one that is four feet long and likes eating cacti. Cacti aren't easy to come by, so if she doesn't have access to them, she's content chewing on seeds, roots, grasses, and fruit. She is chubby and slow and ignores humans, but she lives in a large herd and has sharp horns, so she's not an easy catch for predators.
