Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

While he may have a varied and colorful bloodline, His Majesty's Royal Crest is aware that he has many rare and Noble dragons in his lineage. This doesn't make him feel at all superior to the other dragons in his cave. He is well aware that there are many Dragons who would call him a "mutt", and consider him an outcast. His human loves him though, no matter what, and that's all he needs. That, and the love of a good female.

His Majesty's Royal Crest has decided it's time to settle down, not that he hasn't had fun "sowing his oats". He just wants a good woman to come along and make an honest Dragon out of him. Someone he can trust, who won't make fun of his wildly branching family tree. Someone who can love him for who HE is, not who his ancestors were.
