Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Malachite is the personal companion of the primary human authority and proprietor of the refuge, Dr. Moore. Fiery, seductive and headstrong, Mala's skills as a companion and mount are quite certainly expansive. A young, somewhat petite, creature in her prime, Mala is often involved in wrangling the wilder drakes into submission, and also exercises her scholarly side through the doctor. While not officially part of the preservation effort, Malachite has expressed her willingness to breed, but only to larger males, feeling that no lesser male could ever measure up to her, and offers violence to any who dare try.
