Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is very aggressive, and has brilliant turquoise markings all over its body.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

"This dragon will change your life" has been Liff's motto ever since he could form coherent sentences, and has this carved into the wall of the alcove in which he sleeps. Exactly what his evidence is for this claim remains unclear.

Recently however, a group of youngsters from the Marble Cup Cavern made a discovery in the forest. They found a dusty old book, defining the meanings of many strange words. Looking up 'Liff,' they saw: A dragon, the actions of which are totally belied by its words. For instance, any dragon the motto of which states the words 'This dragon will change your life'.
