Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Merlin flatly denies being the same Merlin of myth and legend.  Given that he's lived in a castle, been the adviser to royalty, has arcane magical powers, and was freed by Merovis from an oak tree prison, it's hard to believe his claim of a chance similarity of names.  Merlin's talents include prophecy (he might not live backwards, but he's better at foretelling the future than remembering the past) and the ability to give good advice (often ignored).  While he probably doesn't have the ability to shift shape, he does seem capable of remarkable insights into the lives of such diverse creatures as geese, owls, ants, and humans.  If Merlin is in fact the same individual who advised King Arthur, then history is beginning to repeat itself, as Merlin and Merovis are increasingly finding their fates intertwined with would-be leader Valor Goldenblaze.
