Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mujahida is a sly, cunning female. She is very flirtatious and has had several hatchlings with the males of the clan, but unfortunately the male she truly wants—Lachlan—is out of her reach. She only wants him so that she could have power (for Lachlan is the clan leader), but unfortunately he is always too busy pining for the mate who left him to become wild. He will not look at Mujahida because she reminds him too much of his lost love, and this frustrates Mujahida to no end; especially when Lachlan leaves to seek out mates elsewhere. So instead Mujahida has turned to the next best thing—Lachlan's son, Dubhthach.
