Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Exakosiaexindaexi is one of the most feared dragons of the Phovyan clan, despite not actually being an adult. His name is Greek for the number six hundred and sixty six, the apparent number of the beast, and it is rumoured that this dragon is powerful enough to shatter mountains. Due to these rumours and his feral temper, Exakosiaexindaexi spends most of his time alone, waiting for the day that he'll be able to leave and start a clan of his own.
