When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Seredos is the second water dragon of the clan. Unlike his mate, Sasheya, Seredos is keen to talking, and surfaces more often. He loves humans, and will surface quickly and rest upon the bank of the lake if one is near. He also surfaces at night, observing the sky as it changes colors and the stars appear. He has been known to save hatchlings that have fallen in the lake, but is rumored to have pulled a hatchling into the lake in order to kill it. This story is told amongst the hatchlings, but not when the Mistress is near. She gets very angry when she hears them talking about Seredos that way. However, it has been noticed that she has never said wether the story is true or not...
