Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Widely considered one of the Periodic Clan's most beautiful and distinguished members, Gold carries himself with grace unrivaled by any other elemental, and the seemingly eternal sheen of his scales and the elegance in his every move are envied by many. While he usually acts reserved and reluctant to let anyone close to him, with a cold, arrogant demeanor at worst, there is simply something about him that inexplicably captivates others. Some dragons will go as far as catering to his every whim just for a bit of attention, going to dangerous lengths at times. It's no secret that many conflicts within the Clan were first caused by Gold's fickle desires, as he will frequently make use of his charms to manipulate others into doing his bidding. By now, he is so used to the special treatment that he's in fact caught off guard when treated as equal to others. Himself naive and lacking life skills, he relies on being coddled, and it's likely a matter of time before that comes back to bite him.
