There are a few creatures in the cave that the young ones would never cross. Big Momma is one of them. One can tell when she is about to blow her top. She starts to fluff up, her feathers actually start changing red, and the glare she gives can bring fear into the heart of a harden criminal. That gives hatchlings a few seconds to scatter before she starts chasing them, trying to peck and scratch them to oblivion. The adult dragons don't try to intervene with Big Momma's attacks. They think it's hilarious watching hatchlings running from a wild ball of fluff. Plus, most times the hatchlings deserve a good whipping. Despite her temper, Big Momma is a sweet little chicken. At least, that's what the dragons tell her.
