Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has bright blue eyes, and is as clumsy as any other hatchling, but it never seems to get injured.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Suishou Bara is a frozen hatchling with a long history. She was abandoned as an egg, but was saved by the Goddess Lyrica who cared for the egg until it hatched, and gave a home to the helpless hatchling. Lyrica named the small hatchling Suishou Bara, which means "Crystal Rose" and gave the hatchling the gift of eternal youth, and took the hatchling on any adventures into the human world she made, until one day the curious hatchling stumbled upon a cave filled with many dragons, and a single human. Suishou Bara soon made friends with the human girl, whom was called Tsuki. The Goddess Lyrica saw how happy Suishou Bara was with the human girl and the other dragons, so she let Suishou Bara live in this world, but gave her the power to call upon the Goddess if she ever needed anything.
