Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them as part of courtship, though they are typically highly-independent. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Keakealani translates as heaven-born child. Keakealani was named by 'Iwa, the young human child who lived among dragons, when she received the glowing silver egg that gently descended upon a wisp of white clouds from the heavens into her arms. The child had become famous and trusted throughout the land among dragons; when eggs or hatchlings cannot be cared for with no immediate choice, they are sent to the child to be raised. Many dragons revere the child for her caring heart, and yet some wish to kidnap her whether of jealousy or spite of humans interacting with dragons. Keakealani spends her time in the skies during the days, playing among the fluffy clouds watching over the entire territory. She watches out for those terrible dragons and is noted as one of the protectors of the cave. Keakealani enjoys her family with the child of dragons, but she longs for other Silver dragons. She knows Silvers are hard to come by, she awaits the time to come when she finally meets another Silver.
