Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sieliano was fascinated by Laurent'a from the time he was just a hatchling, the way she would seemingly turn to stone at dawn and come back to life just at dusk as he was awakening. He tried to follow her out of the cave when she'd leave to hunt, frustrated that his own wings wouldn't bear him upward. At first she ignored him. Over time, she warmed to his overtures, settling in and spinning him long tales of the lands beyond the cave just before her transformation that would leave her immobile during the day. He took to sleeping curled between her immobile front legs, and at last he grew into adulthood, able to fly with her during her nocturnal hunts. It seemed only natural that eventually they would mate and produce offspring of their own. Now he's large enough to curl around her while he dozes, protective even in sleep, and watches the newest generation forming their alliances and enmities with passing interest.
