Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It hides in dark spaces and lunges at anything that gets too close. Small piles of bones are accumulating outside of its “lairs”...

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Dixto describes herself as a "biiiiig dragon!"—indeed, she towers over the rats in the royal cellar that passes as her cave. She got there by sneaking into the castle's kitchens, drinking what proved to be wine, then being chased until she disappeared into the dark cellars. Ever since then, she believes that she is a full-grown dragon who was teleported into a land of giants by a magical potion, and that all wine is actually evil magical potions. If she knew which bottle would teleport her back home she would drink it, but she fears that she would wake up in an even scarier world.

All the humans in the castle know is that there are amazingly few rats in their cellar, and rumour has it that a few people have disappeared while going through the cellars alone in the dark.
