It’s gotten slightly bigger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Mynna is an oddball mint dragon. She is the boldest hatchling in her cave. Her mentor, Smallfyre, can't figure out how she does it. Mynna wishes she could learn something like hunting or guarding, but hunting is for large dragons, most of which can fly, and guarding is for the hugest of the huge, the strongest of the strong. She knows she can't be that way, but her friend, Guardian Charflare, plays cave guard with her all the time.
