Ultraviolet Dragons are a heat-loving breed that are most commonly found in hot, arid environments. These hardy dragons are omnivorous and will eat both plant and animal matter, even species with thorny physical defenses such as cacti. They are generally peaceful and often quite friendly, but males will become aggressive and cantankerous during the breeding season. Intense fights take place over females, sometimes resulting in injury for both combatants.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Knightly Vieolit is the first son of Knightly Gripper and Incendie Bleu. While his mother stands as leader of the Spitfires in the Caves of Twilight, Knightly Vieolit has taken a leading roll among the Ultraviolet dragons. Taking after his father, Knightly Vieolit is a noble and kindhearted dragon. His gentle heart is what led him to become the partner of Apricca Fine, another member of the Vieolit clan.

Apricca's mother was intensely jealous of his own mother's status as leader of the Bleus, and she had neglected her only child from the moment she had hatched. From the first moment he met her, Knightly knew he would do anything in his power to protect her. Knowing her mother would never approve of their union, despite her overall apathy towards her child, the two Ultraviolets eloped in secret. They later returned to announce their union to his parents and Apricca's father, as well as announce their parenthood.
