Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ajax the Great is a young Vampire Dragon who is the self-proclaimed secondary leader of his clan. He is very clever, cunning, brave, and sly. He always gets the first choice of the food that the hunters of the clan bring to the cave with Izar, who is the main leader of their clan. Even though he one of the leaders of the clan, he rarely is seen in the main cave, and is usually found hanging out with his best friend, Graveyard Nightstalker the Nocturne. He is one of the smartest in the clan, and always finds a way to outsmart predators who try to harm his clan. He is also very loyal and would never leave his clan. Ever since he was a young hatchling, he had always been a leader. Once Izar saw this, he decided he would be a great "vice leader" to help him rule their clan.
