Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dark Brion considers himself a religious warrior. When he was a tiny hatchling he heard a passing Black tell of the Great Darkness that will one day cover the land and plunge the world into perpetual night. Awed by the other dragon's preachings, little Brion decided to spread the word of his chosen faith once he became older and left the insane happenings of the cave. Indeed, as soon as he matured he left to roam with only the Dark Book of Darkness and his blinding faith. He rarely, if ever, returns to the cave and when he does the other dragons quickly become annoyed as all he does is preach. Brion threatens villages and other dragons with his warrior skills and mighty magic, forcing them to become Followers of the Darkness in return for their lives. Some places he cannot convert for he is weak in comparison... these he writes in a small journal for future conquest (after moping about not being powerful enough, of course).
