Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Midnight Ride was known to wander out of her cave along with her friend Brough of Saints at night as a hatchling. She was very adventurous, often exploring the darkest caves, which earned her the name Midnight Ride. She's a friendly, outgoing dragon who likes to fly around. She's very friendly to new dragons, and often tries to show them around. She loves exploring near the village near where she lives, and luckily, none of the people who live there are Gold Dragon hunters. She's known to be very nice to the villagers, sometimes bringing them small berries and scales she finds.
