Failed attempts to experiment with magic often result in transforming dragons into these hellish creatures. They are extremely dangerous, and will mindlessly kill any living creature without regard to friend or foe.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Athena Sparkle used to be a very happy dragon, always laughing and cheering up the cave. One day, for no apparent reason, Kanaye decided to kill her. When she was revived, she was no longer the happy-go-lucky spring dragon she had been. Now every night she rampages throughout the cave, roaring, kicking sleeping dragons out her ways and giving the hatchlings nightmares.

As Athena Sparkle was Kanaye's first zombie dragon, she ignores the other dragons' complaints and just passes out dragon earmuffs.
