Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Scylax is a brilliant ochre-colored dragon with large blue eyes and a pale underbelly. The third of the fifth clutch, Scylax is often seen with his hatch-mates, especially Deandria, the second dragon of the clutch. Scylax is very energetic and can often be seen flying about outside the cave. When he is not exercising or tired out, he often seems jittery or nervous, although he quells some of these habits with one of his favorite pastimes, preening, something he may do for hours on a rainy day. Scylax is a friendly dragon that loves to talk with his fellow dragons. However, he can also be a little self centered and too chatty at times. Scylax likes to play with the other dragons, although it is rare that he can find a friend that will match his energy, so he is mostly seen playing a game by himself. His brilliant patterns make him unmistakable in the cave and one that can be easily spotted, in the cave or outside in the air. The other dragons like him for his very friendly attitude.
