Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

For much of her life Cristata just lazed around Ferwe Weyr with no particular cause or interest. She socialized and helped the other dragons, but wasn't able to find a niche of her own. She took Tanine as her permanent mate, but always felt a bit lost. Then one day Barb brought a cask of ale to weyr. Spread over dozens of dragons, it was only enough to give each dragon a taste, but it was also enough for Cristata to find her calling. Using her power to shape and move stone in lieu of hands, Cristata has become the Weyr's brewer and distiller and is becoming more expert with each batch she creates.
