Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.
Amadona is an amazingly intelligent dragon. She was the first to hatch and the first to mature and she always seems to have thoughts of the future on he mind. Her best friend is Ryubaka and she is the Mentor of Tiggah. She enjoys basking in the sun and spending time with Ryubaka, along with the daily hassle of keeping Tiggah out of trouble. She is also very protective of the random dragon eggs her owner brings home,as she protects them despite the human scent.
