Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rincewind is one of many magi dragons who came to the clan to learn from the ancient Princess Delirium.

Unfortunately he is not a very talented mage. He shares this attribute with his friend Shmedrik and the both dragons decided to try different approaches to overcome their difficulties. Rincewind tries everything to understand the reasons and laws behind magic and spells, believing that if he can only comprehend completely he will be able to master magic. He only wishes that he could shake the feeling that there might be no logic to comprehend at all.

Luckily for him the star pupil Hermione has taken more than a passing interest in him and even if he's not good at magic she loves his analytical mind. The two are now mated.
