Perhaps not. It seems to be active during the night.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Bloodmoon, the youngest member of the Helm clan, is the offspring of Syzmica and Ereal. However, she is completely ignorant of her parentage, and the two dragons try to pretend Bloodmoon doesn't exist. After her egg was stolen and bitten, Darkeblood took in the young vampire and raised her like his own, which, in a sense, she was. Bloodmoon's case was talked over solemnly among the other dragons; some wanted to punish Darkeblood for the theft. However, when it became clear that Bloodmoon showed no intention of returning to her parents, the case was abandoned.
