It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Bovee is a midwife. Raised and treated kindly by six generations of humans in a little hamlet in the middle of nowhere, he's never known any other way to live. Most dragons would probably find mammalian birth weird and gross, and many humans stay away from this matter, too, whether out of squeamishness or respect for privacy. Bovee, however, is a welcome sight among expecting parents. Though he knows no useful spells, his knowledge in medicine and patient and sweet disposition more than make up for his lack of magical skill. His yellow tendrils typically have grip marks while he's on the job—getting squeezed by a stressed human doesn't appear to bother him a whole lot. Bovee is happy to stay with the parents for as long as they need, though if that coincides with mating season, he may leave early. Nobody knows where he goes when he seeks a mate, and he may be gone for months, but he always returns to the hamlet.
