The Aeria Gloris are an unusual-looking breed. With six glowing eyes, a ring of crystals that orbits around the dragon’s neck, and seven sets of short wings lining their body, these dragons are thought to be related to something primordial, perhaps even alien. Regardless, Aeria Gloris Dragons are graceful and gifted with potent magic that allows them to manipulate space almost instinctively. They have been known to use highly complex teleportation magic on the fly, and while these dragons are not very mobile on the ground, they often take off by using their magic to create a field which temporarily reverses gravity’s hold. Aeria Gloris are usually neither malicious nor benevolent, preferring to mind their own business and wandering as if in search of something.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cajido enjoys the wild antigravity that sends the rising falls crashing up into the stratosphere, but her goals stretch beyond the peaceful patch of sky she calls home. She believes that all the stars in the universe—including Valkemare's own sun—are giant gloris crystals orbiting an individual who has ascended into a higher state of being. These so-called "astra gloris" their locations revealed clearly by the dark holes in the centers of galaxies that form around them. Planets, such as Valkemare, are merely pebbles caught among the swirling forces. Cajido continues this by positing that mortal aeria gloris are souls created by the astra gloris, and should an aeria prove worthy, she or he will be given a chance to ascend. By striving for a mastery of gravitational manipulation beyond that of her peers, Cajido hopes to earn such ascension and surround herself with stars and planets just as the great glorises of outer space have already done.
