Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

It was a dismal and rainy day when Mercerr stumbled into the cave complex, snarling and shaking water from his scales. He was by no means intimidated by the entire clan he met there, and coolly stated that he would stay wherever he wanted, as long as he wanted.

Mercerr keeps to himself. He avoids contact and will often fly off if a dragon persistently tries to converse with him. As such, the clan doesn't really know much about him. All they've gleaned is that he's always scowling and threatens gratuitously, but has a virtuous streak; he'll often venture out alone to find and safely return lost hatchlings, although he responds to their gratefulness with his usual gruff demeanor. He's also hydrophobic, which nobody can really understand, and has a lethal and presumably magical combat technique which involves a lot of black tentacles and things dying. There's some question as to what he even is; nobody's ever seen him eat or sleep. But he's not one to relinquish his secrets.
