Spirit Ward Dragons are a special breed that ward off evil spirits—at least, that’s what the legends say. During nighttime festivals, people love to see these dragons, because they believe that the dragons guard against evil spirits. The dragons are dark-colored, but glow with a flame-colored internal light that has an intensity that they control.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

This dragon loves nighttime celebrations involving lights. He comes to watch as paper lanterns are launched into the sky, as boats with candles are launched into a lake, and as a parade snakes down a street with bobbing torches in the hands of the marchers.

Onlookers love to see him in the sky for these festivals. Most think he is a really large, elaborate lantern until they see that he is actually flying about.

Once a town did create a dragon-sized float for their celebration. Pardigore flew down to greet it, speaking to it for several minutes before realizing that it was not just shy. As he turned to go, he inadvertently knocked a torch into it and the float went up in flames.

One of the celebration organizers was drunk enough to run over and chastise the dragon for what he had done. Luckily Pardigore was apologetic, not angry, so the organizer asked if he would be willing to replace the float with himself. Now every year, Pardigore is the main feature of that town's celebration.
