Egg Laid on: Sep 29, 2008Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Hatchlings spend a relatively long period of time as hatchlings, from 100 to 200 years, before they mature. Adolescence is usually marked by a hatchling's wings growing in, but not all breeds of dragons grow wings. Baby dragons all look very similar, but once they hit adolescence, they change very fast, they mature to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
Black dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.
In his cave, one can find the skeletons of many animals, and a few adventurers who made the mistake of treading on his hunting grounds without permission. In the dark forest named after him, the Count Jaeger keeps a close eye on anything that enters his realm, and readily stalks it till he is ready to make the decision; prey, pray or pay. Either he hunts the intruder like prey, prays for their soul, or demands tribute from it. Either way, you'd best be prepared to deal with a very demanding dragon.
