Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Astridr has always lived in fear ever since her encounter with an exotic tribe. As a hatchling she was very impetuous, not because she was headstrong, but because she was highly curious. As she pounced and pranced about, the young dragon wasn't aware of how far she explored and was ultimately lost. Astridr had not yet fully developed her wings, so she felt absolutely hopeless. Only minutes passed when she noticed  figures looming over her. They carried spears, spoke foreign word and soon enough a net was thrown over her.

In the strange people's camp, she was tied to a shrine in the center while they performed intimidating rituals. Fortunately for Astridr, her father and the clan's guardians did rescue her, but the incident left her severely traumatized and she never again lost sight of where she went.
