Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females, like most female dragons, eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.
A unnaturally talented strategist and complex "personality," Valeng has destroyed many a dragon's sanity (and quite a few egos, some evil, and others not quite so). She lives by no code of morality except that information is always good. Nothing in the world represents a danger for this free agent. For thousands of years she has roamed lands far from Kad's clan with keen reflexes, savage beauty and a little kitten called Quill.
Valeng is ferociously intelligent and usually quite charming, but she has dark desires she would rather not mention. In sacrifices for so-called wisdom she's lost much of what makes her mortal and emotional, discovering that the powers she has only draw her deeper into a vicious cycle of delight and guilt. Quietly, away from this ever-inquisitive dragon, others whisper that her incredible mental talents are only eclipsed by her ability to destroy virtue.
