And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

In the woods around her human Kad's nest dwells the playful young spirit Sumarr. Her daytime is occupied by foraging and pruning the forest she considers home; by night she mischievously dances around the woods with a lantern in hand, bringing travelers deeper into her domain. Sumarr is capable of limited magic to fend off those who would cut down the magical flora. However, her power- and unending happiness- fades with the passing of summer. By late fall she reluctantly settles in the normal clan cave to wait out the winter, confident that her favorite season will return after she sleeps.
