Shimmer-scale Dragons are a very beautiful breed with small—but highly reflective—scales that shimmer and shine as the dragon moves through water. They don’t have fins or webbed feet, but their long, eel-like bodies allow them to swim quite fast. They were once rumored to carry large pearls in their claws—causing many to seek them out in search of this fabulous treasure. In reality, the “pearl” is of greater value to the dragon, for the fabled treasure is actually an egg carried by a migrating female.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Narcubus is a strange young girl, as she appears to take a liking to ghosts, zombies, pumpkins, and anything else one would generally be surrounded by come Halloween. She will occasionally drape a white sheet over herself and wander about, making eerie "OoOoOooh!" sounds as she walks, pretending to be a ghost dragon. Several dragons will laugh and sometimes play along with her, acting scared whenever she jumps at them, shouting "Boo!" She's not quite figured out how to imitate a zombie, as she's quadrupedal and therefore can't stiffly stick her arms out, but she settles for staggering about and making growling noises. However, her one true passion, her absolute favorite Halloween thing to imitate, is a pumpkin. She will go out and find a pumpkin patch and coil up as tightly as she can. Narcubus then simply stays there, silent, for hours. Usually she won't even react to other people or dragons prodding her, but sometimes if she is asked what she's doing, she says "I'm a pumpkin!"
