Moonstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moons’ power.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A typical moonstone dragon, Nyrai enjoys collecting small and large variations of the beautiful stone he was named after. His wings are soft and feathery, made up of light blue to silver plumage. He takes his turn in the clan, once a lunar month, to watch over the night and the moon. Moonstone dragons' scales are mainly shades of blue and silver, and are semi-reflective, the orbs on the end of their tails even more so. Despite being no less gentle, they are different in appearance to their female counterparts due to their darker hide. They seem to emit a comforting glow. Because of this and their nocturnality, local night-time travelers often took their appearances as good luck. Some even believed they were moon spirits, earning them the nickname Night-Watchers.
