Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It can fit right in your palm.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Kruemelchen doesn't owe her name to the fact that she is the smallest dragon in all the clan, in fact there is a far more "interesting" story behind it.

Once when she was freshly hatched she and some other Pygmies were eating from the scraps of an Earth dragons's meal when suddenly the big dragon was violently sick and the results spoiled the Pygmies' meal. The only one not caring was Kruemelchen, she simply picked the bits out with her claw, claiming that "Without the chunks and crumbs the rest is perfectly fine."

To avoid the otherwise unavoidable disgust upon such a name, Herk decided to name her in a foreign tongue.
