Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Katasciazo is a small, wiry, scarred black dragon, the veteran of many battles. She has a fierce passion for the fight, and prefers to wade in with teeth and claws, rather than magic. The Seraphin army pairs her with mages as a result: Lemos, her current partner, is an experienced battlemage who enjoys Kata's enthusiasm for war and who shares her zeal and piety for the Grove Council and the Lands.<br/>Oddly, this fierce dragon has been quite taken by a brash young white, Elaphros, and clutched eggs with him. Kata is much older and more sensible than the young Warhealer, and has her eye on him in case he does anything stupid. The pair have numerous and frequent offspring together, and fight as often as they chase each others tails. Lemos and Kisel have adopted a long-suffering attitude towards both.
