Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has brightly colored fins on its back.

And look! It has grown larger fins! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

User Description

Yatamorri was born with a severe brain defect that is considered to be incredibly rare among dragons.  The defect is caused by premature hatching, and happens when the brain is severely underdeveloped when the hatchling first hatches.  As a result, the brain cannot grow fast enough to support an adult body and the dragon ultimately dies in early adulthood.  When this was first discovered in Yatamorri, Jamiska, an adult female Magi Dragon in the group, immediately froze him to keep him from dying.  Now, although Yatamorri can't run and play with other normal hatchlings due to his deficiency, he still finds other ways to play.  The adults of the group love to play with this happy little hatchling, and he sure loves the attention, too.
