Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Razor Scar is a hot-tempered, quick-to-anger dragon, who has spent much of his life fighting with various members of the Anu clan. Razor's body is covered in scars that he has accrued from an uncountable number of fights. As a hatchling he loved wrestling with the other dragon children, and as an adult it escalated into daily sparring matches. He spends much of his day training and fighting with the warrior dragons. In truth, he desires the thrill he gets from sparring. He has a long running feud with the mysterious alt black, Sinister Tempest. He taunts the fighting warriors from the sidelines, and because of this he has clashed many, many times with Tempest. Just as hot-blooded as he is, Tempest will not take teasing from anyone. In actuality Razor wishes to court the beautiful Tempest, but the only thing he knows how to do is fight. Their personalities are far too much alike, and many of the scars that mar Razor's sides are from Tempest's quick claws.
