When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vadin gills is noted for his abnormally large body size and huge, extravagant, flamboyant fins and tail. Out of all the water dragons in his clan, Vadin is the most enchanting one. Vadin is heavily territorial and will go on rampages when someone else enters his huge lake without his consent. He is protective and clingy about his clan and would almost never trust outsiders unless they prove themselves to him somehow that they can be trusted. Vadin was always very attached to his huge lake, he would probably never leave it unless he has to. His attachments to his lake probably stems of the fact that he grew up in that lake. Vadin is so connected to the water that he can even create destructive whirlpools and devastating mists. He cloaks his lake also constantly with mists. Vadin's job is to stop invaders that try to get into his clan's territory who travel by boat or under water at all costs. Vadin's hobby is collecting sunken ships. He is nicknamed Loch Ness in his clan.
