Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Golden Red Garnet is a red striped dragon. He is very energetic and always full of excitement, leaping among branches to catch the tiny bugs that he eats. Proud of his sparkling red scales, he will eagerly show them off to visiting dragons, and he loves to polish them until they shine. However, he is not completely carefree, and he does contribute to his clan by catching prey for the food storages. Although he tries his best, not many dragons will eat bugs, and so he ends up only providing for himself and his fellow striped dragons. Golden Red Garnet is very handsome and fun-loving, and he is mates with a turpentine dragon named 'Mystic Desert Stone' (he is the only one that can stand her stench, due to his sense of smell being impaired by an accident when he was young).
