Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rakiss lives in the Dusk Divide Dragon Keep where she is known, along with her brother and sister, as one of the self-christened Black Thunder Trio. Her parents were a black and a thunder obviously, both born in the caves of the wild and not the Keep, which the Black Thunder Trio takes pride in. The three siblings are rarely ever seen apart, and they eat, sleep, and fight together.

Rakiss, like her mother, is quite the flirt and has no permanent mate. She is an energetic and down-to-earth dragon, and she rarely utilizes her fighting prowess unless her siblings need it of her. The cleverest of the Trio, Rakiss can be seen as the leader of her siblings despite her brother being the eldest. She controls their more wilder impulses, but confers with them whenever she needs to make a large decision. This tendency causes her to be seen as the ego of the Trio, forging ahead for her siblings.
