Vremya Drakes are known for their impeccable abilities to alter time as an instinctual response to external stimuli. Whenever they feel threatened or startled, Vremya Drakes are capable of locking their target into a temporary time loop, allowing the drakes to escape unscathed. This attachment to time magic also supplies them insight to potential outcomes a few moments ahead to give them an advantage in dangerous situations. Many instances of deja vu have been attributed to Vremya Drakes and their time loops. Once heralded as the most intelligent drake breed, they are actually not much smarter than the average drake, but their unique method of distracting enemies has falsely given them a reputation of cunning and acumen.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Every day during the summer, Lyvx goes into a big wheel, and then there's this pile of spinach, so he starts heading towards it, but the wheel he's in spins, so he can't quite get to the spinach, so he goes faster, but then the wheel spins faster so he still can't get to the spinach. After he runs for a while he can sometimes catch the spinach, but then he stops running to chew and the wheel is still spinning and he starts going backwards with it and that scares him so he makes a time loop. At this point the big dragons take him out of the wheel so he can eat the spinach in peace. What he doesn't understand is that he provides supplemental power to Star Doe's flour mill when the stream that runs through her magical sylvan glen gets low. He just knows that spinach is yummy.
