Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Frostbite is an old dragon in his cave, and his hobbies take closely after an Ice dragon by the name of Vexen that he grew up with. Thankfully, he didn't follow Vexen's sheer cruelty, killing dragons to evaluate their inner workings as his own idea of 'acquiring knowledge'. Rather, Frostbite refuses to purposefully hurt other dragons to further his own achievements. Instead, he waits for other dragons, neglected by their owners, to meet their death by illness. It is not until then that he will probe inside and attempt to figure out what might have gone wrong. Several times, he has discovered small objects that have blocked a young hatchling's airway. Though his methods are considerably better than Vexen's, at least in that he doesn't commit murder, they are both ridiculed by other dragons in the same way. As long as Frostbite isn't attacked and can continue doing what he loves, he is content with living a life in contempt.
