Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Tanzen is a member of the Fantomasy Guild, a small group of role playing dragons led by the Magi, Fantomasis. Tanzen is a kind, young Day Glory with a wild imagination and a fantastic array of characters. Her favorite is an artistic male whiptail who is very physically and magically weak, but is still a force to be reckoned with. His incredible speed and agility can confuse the enemy in a flurry of attacks. When she isn't role playing with Fantomasy, Tanzen has a strong liking for creating flying moves and actions that vary from graceful to spastic, an idea that she got after watching humans take part in an interesting activity that they called "Dancing."
